How Do I Get Started?

If you feel that you would like to try microlighting to see if it is right for you then it is possible to do this quite safely and at very little cost. All you need to do is to contact your nearest microlight school and book a trial flight. These are available at around £50 for half an hour or £80 for an hour. You will have the choice of 3-axis or flex-wing types or they may let you have a 50:50 split and try both. When you arrive for your flight a qualified instructor will take you up in your chosen type and explain the controls he will then let you take the controls and fly the aircraft. This may sound daunting but there‘s no need to worry as with the dual controls he can take over at any time and prevent you from doing anything silly.
